Singapore was among the first countries to sign the Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement in New York on 20 September 2023. As of 3 October 2023, there are 82 signatories to the Agreement. We spoke to Ambassador for International Law Rena Lee, who oversaw the successful conclusion of negotiations as President of the Intergovernmental Conference, on her personal reflections and advice to diplomats and #WomenInDiplomacy.
