In this video, Singapore’s Ambassador for Oceans and Law of the Sea Issues Rena Lee pays tribute to the women who worked tirelessly to successfully negotiate and conclude the Marine Biodiversity beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement at the UN. She reminds us that men and women alike must join hands to achieve lasting progress towards a more inclusive world. The BBNJ treaty was adopted by consensus at the UN last month and will be open for signature by UN Member States in September.
